Cultivation Manager

The Cultivation Manager will work as part of the cultivation team to manage an indoor Cannabis Production Facility in Holyoke, Mass. Assist in daily operations and all aspects of planning, execution, and management; oversee and manage cultivation personnel; and support Director of Cultivation and Inventory Manager in all warehouse business tasks.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage a large-scale, production facility with a wide array of supplemental lighting. Manage and assist in training a cultivation crew of cultivators and ensure that all actions performed in the facility are compatible with highly developed systems.

  • Perform/supervise all required duties in the Cultivation Department, including the following areas of production: assist in cloning, transplanting, feeding plants, defoliation, cropping, topping, flushing, foliar and preventative sprays, waste disposal, and inventory management.

  • Continue to develop an extensive knowledge base of successful Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategies.

  • Implement and modify our existing, and robust cultivation SOPs. Operate heavy and light horticultural equipment and machinery.

  • Track environmental factors and record data to provide to Director of Cultivation and Executives. Oversee and manage basic pruning procedures for different stages of plant development. Maintain a clean and organized work environment at all times.

  • Implement and oversee water, media, and solution sampling and testing procedures. Adhere to industry standards and waste disposal procedures set forth by regulatory agencies.

  • Aid in oversight of the completion of operations in a timely and efficient manner. Quantify and qualify data regularly, while following SOP and company policies and procedures.

  • Lead by example and assist with propagation, planting, irrigation, mildew control, pest control, cultural management, plant health and maturity observations, and harvesting. Maintain accurate daily activity records and operation logs as directed using designated software.

  • Inspect crops and prepare reports and pre-harvest estimates for all crops. Insect detection, identification techniques, and general crop scouting.

  • Oversee cleanliness and organization of all equipment present within the facility and warehouse.

  • Coordinate and execute field operations efficiently and on time.

  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, contractors, and employees.

  • Contribute to a fun, team-oriented, and challenging work environment in an innovative and pioneering atmosphere.

  • Contribute and improve upon already-existing operations and processes to improve workflow, efficiency, and provide constructive feedback and recommendations. Comply with all HR policies, including confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements. *

  • Facility maintenance and troubleshooting as necessary.

  • Regular attendance is expected and is considered an essential function necessary for the efficient operation of the business.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $58,000 per year
